If anyone wants White rag, then I can supply them as follows:
50 - £12.50 100 - £25
You can collect them in person, or if you want them sent in the post, then i send them Royal Mail Special Delivery, which usually costs between £7 and £10, depending on order size.
Ring me on 01489 564974 to order or find out more.
I would ask that you order at least 2-3 days in advance, so that I can arrange digging times.

The White Rag are a mixture of large and medium sized in every order. Large are 6 inches plus long Medium are 3 to 5 inches long The bigger the tide that I get them on, then the bigger the worms tend to average.
Orders can be placed by phone: 01489 564974 or by e-mail: info@hambledanglers.com
Jon
I do not sell any small white rag, as these are always put back to get bigger for another day!
All orders are dug the same day or day before delivery to ensure that they are fresh when delivered.

Those prices sound quite reasonable - especially for someone like me who lives no where near the coast Would you be willing to do a RM Special Delivery to Northampton (giving the appropiate 2-3 days heads up) More importantly - what methods of payment do you take for postal requests? Rich

Hi Rich, I post my white rag all over the country, all sent next day delivery, so yes, I can send you some no problem at all. You can send me a cheque, pm me for further details, or I can e-mail you a paypal invoice to your e-mail address and you can pay by credit/debit card on there. Ring me on 01489 564974 if you want to speak to me direct. I`m there 0800-1800 Mon-Sat, apart from when I`m out digging, then you can leave a message on the answerphone and I will get back to you. Big tides at mo, so good time to order! Jon

Jon,I too living at Heathrow would rely on the post to get live bait I have read they dont keep for longer than a few days. What method do you use to transport em mate...poly boxes,so I could plan as to when I would have to order em/keep em in the fridge before usage. What is their life expectancy if kept fridged.....2/3 days..?? Gazza

Hi Gazza, The white rag I get are the hardy type, which will last up to 3 months, as long as you change the water frequently, i.e first 5 days = every 12 hours, after that every 24 hours, . All dead worms must be removed or they will kill the remainder. You always lose one or 2 over time, which cannot be helped I`m afraid. The water level is important, as the worms must be allowed to breathe air once the oxygen in the seawater has gone, so just cover the backs of the worms is plenty. They also need to be kept in a fridge in a container, which has a lid with airholes in it, as they don`t like heat.
I transport them to you in a plain water bottle, which has been completely immersed in seawater, then half filled with seawater, worms in. Put straight in post for delivery by 1pm the next day, so they are ultra fresh when they get to you. Depending on your order depends on size of bottle/parcel. I have sent 400 up to Hull and they have arrived perfectly. They guy went on to win one of the big comps up there with them!!!
They will live up to 3 months in ideal situations, but I think if you allow life expectancy of 2 weeks, then you shouldn`t have many die on you before usage.
It is very important to use fresh seawater, which has some oxygen in it and not had any other worms/sandeels etc in. The white rag will die quickly if put in "bad" water.
A good way to keep them is in shallow covered trays, 50 in a large tray, 25 in a small tray, layer coral sand in the bottom and then cover in water. They seem to be at "home" in the sand.
Hope this helps,
Jon

Hi guys While on the subject of keeping white rag I always put activated charcoal in the bottom of a tray and cover with sea water its readily available at an aquatics shop and filters out all the nasties so the worms live for ages with fewer water changes. I have also heard that if you smash up coal finely it works in the same sort of way!
