I don't know your height and weight but....
Its a bit on the short side and with its wide beam will make it suitable only for short distance work. Any kind of headwind will be hardwork over distance. If you buy this kayak and head out regulary you will soon find its limitations if you become more adventurous. Areas to rig/attach rod holders look limited.
Its only available in green so won't help with visibility. The plus side is it will be easy to cartop and carry. Also consider the Ocean Kayak Frenzy, and Malibu Mini X if you are looking at the very short (slow) kayaks.
A good all round fishing kayak to consider would be the Ocean Kayak Prowler 13.

thanks for that smudger. just had a look through the site. the fishing kayak looks good too.
still in "discussions" with the missus. she thinks we should save some more and buy a boat so we can both go out. she dont fancy the kayak option. lol
we'll see what happens!

my other half was like that till i took her out with me on a borrowed yak for a paddle round chi harbour on a nice sunny afternoon, ;D she was amazed as to how stable they are and loved the peace and quiet compared to the dory we had with noisy 2stroke engine. youv'e got some great yakking over there, was over a few weeks ago and had a paddle up the medina and round newtown harbour and out to Gurnard, no fishing but some likely looking spots found for later in the year ;D would like to try some of the back beaches but access seems to be a bit of a problem on most

Has a hatch instead of a tankwell behind the cockpit, limiting the amount of easy to access gear whilst out on the water.
