The Greys GRX is very highly rated but maybe a bit out of your price range. I am going to use my trusty old carp rod this season and make a decision if I need a new spinning outfit, if I do it will be the GRX.

I've got a 10' Greys GRX spin rod. Mmm, lovely it is too.
It's discontinued now (funny how that happens eh? "can't get the carbon" etc, etc)...
You've got a reasonable chance of finding a "stock clearance" version if you Google around.
Steve.

My mate bought a Shakepeare Salt Spin last year (I think they are just over £40 now). Lovely action and about 10 ft so ideal. He loves it for Dexter wedge and "feathers" chucking and wouldn't part with it for the world, Fuji rings too.

hello, in my opinion, 30 and 40 pound is more than enough for a spinning rod, inmy local fishing shop i paid 25 pound for a rod that will fish frim boats shores piers, and catch a majority of fish, thats on the IOW scotties in newport.
