used my saltist 30H (supposedly an equivelent to abu 7000 / slosh 30 size) for the first time last night, filled the spoool with .32 mono to about 4mm off the top, which is till loads considering it takes 295yrds of .40 mono!.
it's an absolute dream of a reel, smooth, fast, great drag, etc, full pendulum no problem! had a few minor over-runs toward the end of the cast, so i think a single mag, if possible would tame it just a little, but it's not essential. i can't wait to get out and use it again,
even though the ratio is only and extra turn to the mag elite, it's winched in within seconds, an absolutely effortless reel!
out of interest, has anyone used the 20 and the 30 side by side? if the 30 is pretty much the same spool size as a slosh 20, would i be right in thinking the 20 is more of a 7ht / 6000 size spool? ie will cast further than the 30? if i replace a 6500 i want to know it'll still belt out if i need it too!
