thorness bay 4th may

met niroc down thorness 3pm for a smut bash ,niroc had the first smut that went like a train then Min's later he had another one that was a nice size ,then i had a screaming run which produced a lively smut Min's later i had a fighting spotted within ten Min's i had me biggest smutt of the sesh that was very lively on the yak ,then i had a small smut by the time i unhooked that me other rod screamed off fought it all the way to the yak n lost it about 10ft under the yak which felt like a bass,niroc had a few more smuts biggest 9lb ish,all in all agreat day out

no they seem considerably sturdy n nice to fish off ;D they do tow the yak about though which feels GOOD!!!

yes its very lively with a good smut aboard great stuff though even reeling one is a challenge as the yak gets towed about ,the smut swims to the left the yak pulls to the left swims right pulls right n so on great fun!!!!!!!!

about 5lb had no scales with me ,every thing but scales n kitchen sink ,bad add to the kids that gv never mined the government have done the damage over the years n this is the out come :Pbest find a better place for next pics though

nice report!! we're (team extreme) invading thorness bay on friday for a weekends fishing, i've fished the bay before but unsuccessfully, would you mind divulging where our best bet of catching them is? ie to the west or eastern end, were you far out from shore?
