red gills

hi chaps
nearly got all my stuff together for my first season lure fishing for bass, seems here in essex very few do it!!
planning to use re gills from the shore/pier
would you use the 178mm ones or smaller?

smaller mate,in shore the bass will be chasing white bait or sand eels
i have used 2 " white gills to good effect
match the hatch as they say
