Hi all, well after catching a nice smoothy on my boat sunday and then being left with a bent sakuma manta 5/0 i think i should get some stronger hooks what hook patterns do you use for smoothounds? thanks alot, scott.

Sakuma Extra E540's won't bend, try them (UK Hooks have them from 6 to 8/0)

Yeah I'd say if it bent a Sakuma Manta Extra then it was either moby dick or you're using cheap fakes PS off the beach I've had big smoothounds on mustad power worm hooks without them bending out.

I wouldnt of said it bent it if it didnt. before anyway implies that i am bullsh*ting Bloody hell managed to rub coddo up the wrong way and now you... whiny teenage emos ;D I was simply saying that the Manta Extras are bloody strong, and I know there are other hooks made by Sakuma (or Varivas and Gamakatsu as some people insist they are the same).

I think islandnipper straightened a sakuma manta on a tope, might be wrong, though I think its almost definately true. Are Varivas really the same as sakuma, looks like I have been paying too much for my hooks. I used to work for BT so I haven't got a sense of humour. I really don't know why I have written this crap, must go fishing very soon.

does anyone reckon this circle hook would be ok 4 a top hook on a pennel 4 smoothies? the line is 4 size comparison as im not sure on the numerical size.
