Hi all
Im heading down to the coast in the morning to look for some peelers, i know that most places are kept secret but can some body help put me in the right location? im comming from aldershot so anywhere in the region of gosport to selsey would be best. Im not after a lot of crab just enough for a session or 2.
Cheers for any help

i'd like a £ for every time i've seen this question posted on forums ;D,no disrespect to you danny...but...you'll probably have more luck finding a steaming pile of unicorn s*** at the bottom of your garden m8 (now i bet somebody comes on to prove me wrong)

i came down this morning and collected 35 peeler crab, about half are popping and are now on the fridge with a damp tea towel over them. Most of the rest have a new leg segment ready underneath so should be good in a few days, but a few of them have a really soft leg underneath like this are these peelers and will they come on if i keep them and give them water everyday? Cheers Danny

the fresh leg segment usually means they are near to peeling, let themdrink sea water to bring them on quicker

Yeah they will come on evenyually even if they are a while away from peeling. Just a quick question though, where abouts did you go and get them.

What i always do is keep them in the fridge covered in seaweed and then bring them out for a few hours in a tray with a very thin layer of water in it.
Interesting on the Where situation. I asked where, as i wondered if Someone posting a question on where to collect crab from, would post back an answer once they had found them.
I appreciate these areas are secret but that answered my niggling question.
As far as anyone else wanting to find some crab. I placed a load of traps (guttering) a few years back in gosport at the end of the road that goes down to weavel creek. Now you cant park down there as its been built on and is permit parking. But if they are still there as you see the bridge walk down to the left and as you come across the gulley they were there. You will find crab in them if their still there.
