They are a very nice boat but I cannot foresee a situation where petrol will be more economical than a diesel boat. My diesel has doubled in the last six months from 38p to 66.9p a litre. I burn 20 litres an hour with a 230hp inboard diesel so that is £14 an hour.
A 150hp four stroke will burn about 12 gallons (probably more) an hour at £5 a gallon for a total cost of £60.
You can double the price of diesel and still be well in pocket. Yes diesel boats cost more to buy but they are cheaper to service, have a greater longevity and a higher resale value.
There are other factors of course and I am sure a mathmetician could formulate a contrary argument but this is my view. I have owned several engines both inboard and out but would go for a diesel everytime.

aquafish 23 very nice, just a thought why not find out if your present engine will run on 28 second oil (heating oil) rather than 35 second oil (red diesel) as you could have a tank at home for storing the stuff also if you buy less than 2500litres the tax is 5% ;D

i ask a tanker driver about heating oil for my boat but he said it was no good for diesel engines , something to do with the oil content not being good enough to run a diesel

I knew someone that used to run a diesel on Jet-A1. He used to add 5% diesel for lube , just have to find a source. He used to look after the fuel testing for a helicopter operator and as soon as the fuel is withdrawn from the tank it is effectivley scrap, never mind ......
