as i probably wont be able to dig alot of rag for the ventnor all-nighter comp, but can get lug, is lug + crab cocktail just as good as rag + crab for smuts?

Your better off just using crab on its own if you have enough

i agree, to put lug with crab, or even rag (imho) is a waste of a crab, rag or lug will just pick up pout most of the time! hounds will go for crab over anything else, i'd stick with it.
i guess if you're in a comp and have enough crab, then pout and dogs on lug is ok, but if specifically going for hound, go with the crab!
