Hi all im in the market for an auxillary for my boat its a 15 foot 6 foot beam open boat and im after the smallest i can get away with as weight is a factor what sort of size am i going to need? i was looking at 3-5 hp or is that to under powered.

i would say you would probably get away with a 2hp at 15ft but would recommend a 4hp. 2 stroke might be better also as it will save on weight. remember to look at whether you will need a long or short shaft also

I agree with the above. I have a 20ft with an old 5hp seagull, doesn't set the world alight but will get me back if needed.
