Well after my catastrophic failure of my old BMC engine on 30 Nov 07, I have finally got the replacement engine fitted, alligned and it started at the first turn of the key ;D Water Temp Sender is u/s - easily replaced and for some reason the tacho is not displaying engine revs, although there is power to the unit, not sure if the problem lies within the alternator. So with a bit of luck, and some fair winds i will get out for some trials and fishing this week ;D ;D ;D 170 days without getting out Dave

nice one dave ,
as for the tacho, some buhk engines have a sencor on the bell housing sencing from the fly wheel for rpm, if you have whip it out and give it a clean as thay get covered in shite and stop working

Thanks for that john, but i have a beta, which i am told gets it from the alternator, checking to see if there is 9v a/c on the 'w' stud tomorrow.
