Hi All,
Anyone have any experience or knowledge of Sea Nymph 17's ? Main priority is stability/safety as would like to be able to take the children out on the solent. Also are they launchable/retrievable single handed..

Is that the aluminum one? There used to be a aluminum Sea Nymph, 17' open boat, bare ali with a red stripe?. At the time they were quite rated. I remember the ad in sea angler late 80's / early 90's. I think alot were sold as safety boats. Nearly idestructable but fairly shallow freeboard as I remember.

Used to be a boat called a sea nymph at our club. It was ok but had a big cabin for its size so not much room for fishing. From what i can remember it was quite heavy as well.

Thanks chaps. Had a search around on the web and found some info on the ali one, looks a nice boat easy to launch retrieve - it's not that one ;D The other one with the large cabin small fishing area, fairly heavy so probably need three or four shreddies on the morning of launch - yep, it's that one ;D Gone for it anyway - Think I've got a fairly tidy little "beginners" package. Not going to break any speed records as came with 9.9 Evinrude twin 2 stroke, would be happy to get 8 or 9 knots, is that realistic ??. Also no remote steering, the engine is 10 years old so I'm sure I can get a remote kit for it, any advice on the cheapest way to set up and where best to get all the gear needed for steering and power would be welcome. Have spoken to one place and the list of what I need started to get quite long and expensive..
GPS came full of solent marks set by the previous owner which to me is priceless.
Cheers Des
