ok..whilst trying to drag freshwater ideas to my new found sea experience.....im not accustomed yet as to which fish are happier to feed hard on the sea bed and those that feed just off or mid water. with a P.V.A bag i guess im targeting the flatties etc. "but"with them happy to feed on big juicy worms........ What "if any" dry style bait could i introduce via the bag,so it doesnt break up mid air...??but more importantly has an attraction to the fish.i was thinking about introducing semi bouyant fish based pellets as well so once they disperse off bottom it might lead inquisative fish to the bottom... i just wanna clip my spool up and create a feed zone... maybe with strong tides my thinking is wrong,i just want to try something differnt ......any ideas on the bait i could use in the bag.... ??.........if any.!!!!! Hi Gary,
How about mixing fish guts with fish meal (Anchovy/Herring to name a couple) that would dry it out enough for pva. Or what about making a method mix ?
Have you thought about using swim feeders with chopped/liquidised bits in it?

Hi Steve...Great response mate, ive got a squid and octopus method mix in the cupboard that reaks..i know the barbel love it.The weight is a concern if im already casting 5oz + i wos gonna try and keep the PVA "balls" small so they cast ok,or surround the lead. im no chemist so wasnt sure how the oils in products would disperse in sea water, another reason to get the "experimental bucket" out..lol As for the Feeder, i read a good article the other day about just that. 4 of my 5 fish on friday came to a feeder rod....but wool soaked in fish essence in the feeder was what i tried that day.....dunno if it really worked or just lucky on that rod.!!!!! i,m a bugger for trying different things, cant shake the match fishing outa me ol bones..lol Really appreciate your ideas though...jude will love the kitchen when im playing around with guts and meal....ill blame you mate...lol.
Cheers Gary

Hi Gary, It has been known for me to use bollies before now, and caught fish, mainly flatties. Tight lines

jude will love the kitchen when im playing around with guts and meal....ill blame you mate...lol Cheers Gary, just don't tell her I only live down the road from you ;D I've used a feeder with Belachan (fermented shrimp) paste stuffed in it, it worked really well the first time, out fishing other rods around me but it did not work every time. I guess if fish are about they find the bait very quickly. Maninblack - very interesting that one, I've been very tempted to give them a go but not had the bottle to do it yet...
