first carp on a fly

with working silly hours at work my boss told me to have rest of the day off and rest....
how could i say no , so i head to nailors lake (in netley)armed with beers bait carp rod and fly rod with some carp in mind.
i chucked bit of bread out and had loads of tiny silvers and couple of small carp on the feed. and 3rd cast i was in to my first carp on a fly, no monster but still a first.

after that u i set up a carp rod cast out and ground baited , then i set up my feeder rod with bread and had well over 20 carp up to 2lb on it.i also had doozen or so more carp on my fly rod
during this time my carp rod never moved for 4 hour then somthing happened and i a had 5 carp in a hour on it, 1st 3lb, 2nd 4 1/4lb, 3rd 3 1/2lb , 4th 4 3/4lb ,5th 2 1/2lb ish
then it went dead again , so i head home

hears a couple of piccys of the bigger 1s



busy day and a nice rest from work,

im away this weekend but hope to get out in the solent weekend after and try the fly on some bassand mackerel while fishing for smuts and rays .

welldone mate,and what lovelly looking fish,what did you catch the fly caught ones on,im a fly fanatic(but i spend most of my time swiffin) but ive never caught a carp on the fly,great report,

buzzers and a funny looking thing which i guess looked like bread.
hope to get a good sized one on a fly over the next couple of months

i did also get few roach on the real small buzzers

i only had them up to a lb on the fly but id say if i get a 1 over 5lb it sould be a good challange as the little ones let you know thay are there
