After my last post on being down on rev's, I took Aquaholic out of the water to clean her bottom!!!
Friday 20th 18:30,
Left the slip at Langstone taking the boat back to the warehouse at work. The first job was to pressure wash the hull, not the most powerfull but it did get rid of all the weed. Struggled to push the boat in the warehouse as the truck with the towbar had gone home!! Impellor was changed and back in without any fuss. After a cuppa and some food we had to crack on with the sanding By midnight we'd had enough and called it a night.
Sat 21st 07:30, kettle was on, ran the engine up and the impellor was working fine... Back sanding. Once one side was done i started painting whilst my bro saned the other. It didn't take long, before i knew it it was done.
The next job was to look at the trim tabs that had packed up. I found a vital part on the deck, a ball that helps control the pressure had dropped out the last time i tried to fix it. That was refitted, new oil, bled the system and they were back working.
Next was to reseal the hatch in the deck as they were leaking, then the diaphrams in the horn's were adjusted to bring them back to life.
15:00, on our way back to the slip to launch.
I could tell a massive difference straight away, the boat was going through the water so much better even at low speed's. Headed out the entrance and opened her up abit, she flew upto 17 knotts at 5000 rpm, there was a fair chop to say the least and was difficult to set and adjust the trim tabs. So i headed back to the mooring.
Was a very busy 24 hrs but def worth it. Cant wait for a break in the weather now to get out on she how she goes
