went to walmer on sunday and their was a load of anglers fishing a comp including a friend of mine.very few fish were caught but it was a terriable n/e wind about force 5,lots of weed.me mate was using yellows, whit rag, peeler crab on a 3 hook clipted down flapper but nothing showed.
another comp at sandown castle produced slightly more but was one with a single 850 gram doggie.
went to ramsgate, margate beaches last night for a look and it was much better, codling, school bass, ling, and the usual pout all being caught.mostly on squid as the peeler crabs have all but gone already.anywhere along the lido in margate is producing fish and with better bait i am sure more fish would be caught.

Always the same in these weather conditions mate - remember the old adage: "When the wind's in the east the fish bite the least, when the wind's from the west, the fish bite best!" I don't know where this ditty came from or why it's true but I have proved it to myself dozens of times. Not bothering to go down the beach meself 'til it gets a bit better.
