hi pete,i have used various surface poppers and things called chug bugs and caught nothing. but rapala j13 is the kiddie early morning or late evening high tide trolling or casting by the blocks. and by st hellens fort (bembridge) where it is so shallow that you can see the bass and cast towards them ;D

I would Pete but never had a sniff on 1 and belive me I have done some pugging Best stick to the shallow diver's 1 to 2 feet,jointed do have the edge to.

Lures my favorite sport, rapala j13, xrap macky blue and green, and sliver various colours great results. Surface poppers of rocks at Puckaster, ledge , Luccombe, lighthouse etc etc high tide, mid, low, surf, calm .. NOTHING blank blank blank.

I have a mate who has done well on the rapala skitter pop in mullet but DONT get the skitter PROP with the blade at the back cause its shiyte! watched a guy at seaview a couple of years back clean with one, the mullet or the blue seems the ticket. They seem to work well over very shallow rock ledges but I have no joy where I get my bass on a diver but then it aint shallow or rocky!!! I thought I'd been ripped off but they do work in certain places and the only way in those places!
