clare to be honest with you and i think most of the guys will say the sam ebut if you are able to save your money you can pick up decent rods for around the £140 mark that will last a while. if you are desperate have a look at tis link that was posted a while back. www.auctionangler.co.uk/sea_tackle/multiplier_reels.php

if you could scrape together £107 gerrys are doing the shakespeare k2 blue 14 or 15 ft,you could price match with local tackle shops been using one for over a year and it's a good bit of kit for clean beach's and very light and slim ;D...(unlike me ;D)

as edd said I really enjoyed using the Blue metal (15 footer) that bazza lent me for the evening....nice tool and caught me my first Bream......they are available to buy from Poingdestres in southampton @£107 squid......or if you wanna buy the upgraded version (Shakespeare Extreme Titanium 15ft) that is £115 squid.....there are fixed spool and multi versions being sold there....considering they are a £230 rod being sold for half price I feel is well worth saving up a tad more toward one. or..............you can always annoy Bazza to sell his one to you believe me ......Ive tried...but the tight bugger just likes to look at it sitting on his rod rack..... you being a girlie......might have a better chance....... ;D Gazza

Clare i have a 13ft rod you can buy or borrow for a while. Spending £50 wont buy you much! I would keep saving for longer and spend more for a decent rod as you will find yourself haveing to keep upgradeing your rods/reels as you get more into your fishing. I have been trying to upgrade as i go and it works out more expensive in the long run
