Hey all, Missed out on some fresh Lug last week so brought some frozen black Lug, when it was defrosted I was surprised to see it was gutted and basicly a empty tube, so my question is how do I present it on the hook properly?
Cheers,
Mark.

Thread it on the hook and up the line like you would do live lug or rag , only these dont bite psml , tip off with squid if your after cod , if not dont bother wasting it , keep it in the freezer for a cod bash , i know where you are off to tommorow , and i would stick to rag , squid , mackeral

Its still good stuff! I `sew` it onto the hook. Just put it on the hook and pass it out then thread it on again. This stops it forming a ball over your hook point when it becomes soft.

when baiting up frozen lug, i use a baiting needle, thread half the worm on and then double up the remaining worm along the half on the baiting needle, elasticate and your ready to go, a nice compact juicy bait!, you can use this method with two lug, just thread a whole one right uo the needle, and piggy back another along side and elasticate. i find the stay perfect on the hook, but you may need to use a little extre elastic once threaded onto the hook, and always use a bait stop.

For a good size cod bait hold 4 blacks together then put elastic around the heads, swing the lugs so the elastic winds all the way down to the tail. Now bend the the worms in half and elasticate them together, this will make a nice blacklug sausage then just push the hook through the middle. You can use more or less worms depending on the size of the fish your after

You can also try filling a whole squid with black lug, binding with elastic, and threading on a pennel. Makes a good 'sausage-shaped; bait for the bigger Cod.

When using the packing out squid method it always pays to prick the squid several times with your grip lead,to release the inner scent
