Well done mate, thats a brilliant result from the shore, we struggled last year between the two of us. Got 18 but didnt have some of the easy fish we should have, still beat the old man and is mate, think they had 7 (the ametuers!! lol) We have pulled our hair out trying to catch the gars as well, have a habit of coming off at the net!! (doh) but last year we found a spot near the harbour entrance where they seemed pretty plentiful, we now use small freshwater hooks below a float with a small mackerel belly strip, they dont see that coming!!
Anyway, have a good time in alderney, hope you catch plenty, sounds like fun to be, be a few bass i expect. Im off on a family holiday to france in july/august on an island in the bay of biscay (SW coast), gotta be a few silver ones there to try for.
