sorry as sunny says ABU have crap drags, i go with shimano all the time now the torium range are good and a good price too

Yep, if you need a reel that big then Shimano TLD or some big ass Penn would be my choice.
Biggest I'd go in an Abu is 7000/7500 for drifting with braid etc.

I take it this is the new 10000, the old 2 speed ones were good but still not really up to 50lb class. Go for a penn senator 6/0 high speed , wide spool ( 114 hlw). Bomb proof.

If only Mullet grew to 60LB...then I would definately throw the 10,000 in the bin My favourite at the moment is the Mitchell 20-30 Ti ...which is an 80lb class reel; my only whinge is the clicker button design is poor. This reel is hard to get now I just found one in Italy on eBay. I have just bought a Penn International II 30Tw from Daznewland1...so will give this reel a field test asap ... it looks a great reel and I think the Penn Internatuional range are an incredible bit of kit. |
