I have ordered my bait for the RNLI meet, it will be delivered Friday by courier. Most of it is fozen, except the Rag and Lug Normal answer is to store live bait in sea water - but living in Northamptonshite there is not much sea close to hand So what will be the best way to keep my bait alive until Saturday? Rich

lay out on a tray in the fridge, on top of the wet paper it comes in, with another sheet of the wet paper on top, putting any aside that look iffy, about the best you can do given no water available. you could put the rag in vermiculite( fine grade ) straight away, but don't use too much, and keep the lug wrapped, as squidlips advised, and try to keep in the cool( baitfridge if available!)

There's no way you need seawater to keep it alive a day or two. If kept cool, worms will stay alive for weeks just in newspaper (and a bit of bladder wrack or other weed is good for ragworm).

Yeah sorry ragworm are much hardier, but I've kept blow lug alive in newspaper only four 4-5 days as long as they are cool.
