whats the best bait because theres so many good baits for bass , i was wondering what you think?

hard to tell the best bait luke. iv had them on raggy as you know. iv had em on squid, lug, mackeral, sandeel,garfish, wrasse, pollock, pout
they even get them on sausage n bacon

Hi
Bass can be caught on most baits at certain times of the year. The best baits depend on the mark, conditions, and time of year but as a rough rule.....
In the spring (and especially shore fishing) would go for peeler over anything else.
Summer usually fresh/frozen mackerel works best and in winter I reckon squid is number one....

Live pout for the bigger bass in the winter , or whole squid , another is limpet , very good from the shore

Hope this helps Good reply, only thing i might add is based purely on location and making sure your bait is consistent with the likely food source at that location, ie half way up an estuary you are very unlikely to see squid or mackeral so they do not take fish so often as worms or crab, likewise worm is not going to be so useful at deep water marks where squid / cuttle are the prevelant food supply.

my top bait for bass is some really stinky 2 week old limpet but i would take other baits like squid or mackerel with me just incase hope this helps
