Dick Smith and I had our first kayak session today targetting the Thick Lippeds here which Winter over. We had four between us, the icing on the cake was that Dick broke the Channel Island Boat record for the species with a fine fish of 8lb 7oz 6dr. Good start. UK record only 10lb 1oz....................makes ya think.

We caught 4, despite being there a few hours the fish came in a 40 minute spell. Bread was the bait.

nice fish mark,how long did that take to get in and how far did it tow ya,i had an 8lb 5oz from a hampshire creek and that tool me 30 odd mins and that was from the shore, good stuff,

Hi Bob,
If you asked Dick he would say an eternity but it was a good 10 minutes I guess. Towing the kayak probably tired him more than the drag on the reel :-)
