After suffering cabin fever for too long made plans late yesterday with my mate Lozz to hit the Essex Coast for a days fishing.
Set off at 0530 a nice warm .5C ;D it was warm in the van anyway ;D arrived at our meeting place for breakfast at 8 and Lozz arrived shortly after.
We went and bought our worms and by the time we got to the slipway it had warmed up lovely to 2.5C.
Woolly hat weather!!!!
Paddled out to a mark on the edge of a bank and first drop...POW!!! double whammy ;D
Most of the Codling were quite small(1lb-1.5lb) but gave great accounts of themselves on my light rods.I pulled up one that gave a hell of a good fight and was amazed to see how small it was after the fight it had provided.
The better class of fish were going for the double squid baits
Ended up catching: one Pout ,one Whiting and Twelve codling the biggest just over 2lb.......all were returned as by the time I've filleted a 2lber there is bugger all left ;D ;D
It was great to spend new years eve catching fish with my buddy.....cheers Lozz
