Hi guys, i'm doing some homework as i'm looking at getting a new chartplotter at the end of the month.
Now i have a rough idea of what i'm looking for which currently seems to be the Raymarine A60
However, Speaking to Ady he raves on all the time about the Garmin cartology and i have to admit i was very impressed with his update speed on the garmin 550.
I've done a bit of homework now on which maps to use as its obviously fishing and not navigating i'm interested in and all the work i've done seems to point to Navionics, C-map followed by Garmin Vision G2.
I'm after a bit of advice from anyone that has the raymarine A60 or the RC435i, do you rate them?
I seem to have a problem finding out which is the latest Chartplotters as they all seem to be reviewed when new and dont have a date of the review. i.e lowrance ones.
I dont mind which brand i get as long as it works on the charts that i find are the most effective for fishing.
Not sure of a budget as yet. Looking at £500 but if need be would pay more if there is one that really stands out.
Also not bothered about getting attachments for it as i have a fishfinder and previously had a dual use GPS that was a pain in the arse so prefer to keep them seperate.
As i say top of the list at the moment are the raymarines, but i also like the look of the cobra 600ci and the standard horizon.
What do you have and would you buy it again? pro's and cons.
Sorry i know this has been covered loads of times but all the info i needed wasn't in some of the other threads.
To recall most important is fishing chart accuracy, update time and ease of use.
