can i convert my mercury 40 hp blueband outboard from pull start to electric start or is it expensive and would i be better off living with it and going back to the gym

You maybe able to pick the parts up on good old ebay But you will also need the wiring harness which maybe harder to locate than the starter motor and mounting

Have you ever thought of part exchanging your engine ?
I would think you could get a good deal at the moment. Other than that I think I would join the gym :sick:

tidy reply sixrods, it kept me chuckling for a while, apparently the engine is in very good fettle ( as they say in yorkshire even though i am not from yorkshire ) and it does run very sweet when warm but maybe i just need to invest a little time and money in a good service before giving up hope on a nice looking engine
