Here are a few snaps from my holi last month in west Australia All caught from the beach... First up is a ugly dog of a fish, had a couple of these mutts.. This was my first reef shark had a few of these steal the baits. This was a better one which fell to a free lined prawn on a very light spin outfit.. Last time I was out there 6 years ago I was lucky enough to land one of these shovelnosed sharks and really wanted another this trip. These beauties fight like hell, real power houses.. Here's the one I had 6 years ago.. This was the first one I had this time round.. This one was the second one the following night.. A couple of nights later I talked the misses into another 'boring' night on the beach Got my best one! The fight! on a 12ft travel beach rod and a tld 20 loaded with 55lb braid and a 150lb rubbing leader..Finished off with 10/0's to a 225lb wire trace The result... A good hour later! Caught a few bits and bobs on the lures but nothing monstrous, lost some amazing fish that the tackle couldn't handle... Also managed one of these on a side winder tempest lure Luckily it was only hooked in the flipper and went back no problems! It wasnt a bad fight
