Assuming the pontoon goes up and down with the tide, it is easy, you will need 3 sets of cleats (each side), one at the front, one at the back and one in the middle. Use figure of eight knots to tie up - a line going forward from the front cleat, one going back from the rear cleat and one going both forward and back from the middle cleat. That way it will be nice and tight and wont swing forward, back or out while you are away. Have lots of fenders otherwise your boat will bang to pieces. Use proper mooring rope - polyester or nylon, don't use polyproylene (blue stuff) as it will come undone by itself as it is stiff and slippery (!!) and make sure it is thick enough and there will be a lot of pulling and snatching if there are waves and wind by the pontoon area.
