I've used Momoi Diamond line and it is very good casting line and very supple too, its rated as stronger than its stated breaking strain by some good percent but it is thicker for the given breaking strain than others. It does have very good knot strength though, its worth a go!

Yer it wasnt the F1 i was saying about. It was just black standard ultima. black ice ? dave sometimes the colored dyes used in the line can make certain ones weaker, ultima red ice used to be crap, woudnt cast any sense and snapped really easy but hada spool give me last year and tryed it again it seemed alot better than before, the color had changed slightly too  i expect somebody else has noticed this to.

down here in carrot cruncher land tritanium is popular...gardener tackle will actually sell you the 1lb spool direct on the grounds that it is hard to source so worth a go? i use it in red on my 525s in 20lb for raying, smoothies just about all of it really. its in 17 on my 6500s...its nice stuff. its my top all round line. big game,f1 penn super surf, stren and trilene are all well liked also. I think the only line with more abrasion resistance than tritanium is Profish ghostline which is a bit more expensive, especially since I've only ever seen it on 1/4lb spools. This link is very useful when it comes to comparing mono lines, and the guy who wrote it (Dave Barham) isn't the Sea Angler-type journo who would give a bag of shite a 10/10 review because he was getting paid for it: www.anglersnet.co.uk/authors/dave02.htmIt also proves what I always thought that Ultima F1 is toss There are a lot of nobs who always buy a certain type of crap line and say there can't be any difference because there are only a few factories in the world that make Nylon (Germany, Japan and USA I think). They are right that there are only a few but they use different polymer formulations for different lines so if anyone ever tells you all line is the same, tell them to take their head out of their ar5ehole this test states that pretty much i was on the right lines with regards to lines that have it and those that dont the probs with ultima red and black ice is that they seemed to decay far quicker than others in u/v expsosure. they just go to pot way to quick for me.
