Greased weasle do some good ones as do ultima, its about the only product of ultima i like though it can be a little `stiff `. I have only really been using it for the past 2 years and only put it on if i am thinking of really belting a bait out. The best thing about it for me is the confidence it gives you when really putting your back into a big cast with a big bait. I`m no torno caster by any means, but with the added confidence of no chance of a crack off, you will send it out a lot further. Three of four turns around your reel and enough hanging off the rod is ample. I use 4 arm spans for a 13ft rod.

i use berkley big game 50lb nice and supple and a lot cheaper than leaders. use them all the time a lot safer than just using 18lb line only. also acts as a rubbing line

I habitually use a low diameter 20lb mainline which has proved fairly tough over the last few years so I if I am just lobbing out a 3 or 4 oz sinker I don't bother. However if I am expecting to use a 4 or 5 oz sinker and power casting it 100 yds or more (airialised OTG in my case), I do use a 50lb shockleader, usually greased weasel which is tied on with an allbright knot. Although I can't recall the last time I had a crack off, I feel a lot safer with said SL. Interestingly, my mate uses the same line as I do, always with a 3 oz sinker and he gives it a hell of a belt sometimes (hatteras style) but never has a crackoff.

I normally use daiwa tournament shock leader which is tapered 16 to 65lb line. Seems ok to me and as its tapered you get a tidy small knot
