i have had enough of reading of the fantastic fun you kayak types have .So yesterday myself and fishing partner Si went to Bournemouth canoes and ordered and paid for two ocean elites 4.7and enough bits and pieces to get us started . We are fortunate that we have a very good friend Mark stocker who is a very experianced kayaker and runs Christchurch Kayaks.he is an qualified instructor and whilst he freely admits he isnt going to teach us much about fishing he will help with the safety aspects of this crazy thing we have got ourselves into . So its off to christchurch harbour to learn to paddle fall off and get back on ,should be here by next weekend ....very up for this. Once spent a whole week in a kayak on the broads and rivers of Norfolk i was in the Royal Navy at the time and it was an exped ..in january ...long time ago now

Good luck Cam... there must be loads of great marks along the coat there where a boat wouldn't give yu the close up access that you could get with a Yak; not to mention the fitness session and adventures

Very fortunate to have a good mate who has a business called christchurch kayaks .he trains people to do it right and seeing as how he holds the irish sea crossing record i reckon he knows a thing or two .If it gets to hard i will invest in an engine or a sail .if it gets to cold ill wrap up and if i dont like it i will concede .but got to find out cos i could not go on thinking that looks fun without giving it a fair go .

I thought the Waverley was the last seagoing paddle steamer. I now know there is a new one just about ready to launch. It is called Cam and will hopefully have its maiden voyage on Saturday.

Whoa Dude - you need to get some "bling" going there ........ couple of 14ft beach casters pointing backwards - the jet-ski motor - paint the yak matt black with sharks teeth decals on the sharp end ..........
And as for those knees - lol - don't do this at home kids
Seriously though - good on yer for taking the plunge (which is next in the training manual)
Keep the reports coming mate ......
