I used to use a pair of cono cod 6's for rock work until some %£@* turned our old shed over. Our new shed is like fort Knox. Lesson learnt that was.

They were the ones with a glass tip?? if i remember great bite detection and good distance could be achieved on them, considering they got be 20 years old I dont think rods have really come that far, a lot lighter but seem to be no more pokey really.

Must have been the 80's when I had them built mate , a lot heavier than the rods today though. Used to use em for shore eels on portland and the purbecks (best a tad over 20lb,had 6 in one session to the west of Durdle door) and they were good with 6oz and a big maccy/squid bait. Also lost a 13'6" wrasse rod I built on a conoflex butt and a northwestern uptider top, that one was a joy to use. Must say rock fishing does beat yer gear up a bit and they looked their age. Still gutted to lose them and the 7000s on them. NB my mate snapped his 484 abu at the metal spigot on an eel so had the 6's built.

NICE, i would like 2 but my greys orion is just as good in the strength stakes, side by side in the rest, they look pretty much the same rod though the orion is ever so slightly thicker. I have got an abu mag 6500 on my pz steve and it goes like a dream.

Going by the writing on the rod, is that the MK2? I think the MK2 is lighter and still a good rod, but a MK1 would get a bigger end bid me thinks.

Hmmm, there was only a Mk1 PZ300T I think, the Mk2 was the Platinum XS or something.
