Everytime i go to my local i always have to pick the suveran Pro up and have a look. I have the 20-30lb and it's a great rod. Has anyone got, used, had the uptider? How have you found it compared to other uptider's My first choice would be the Team Daiwa but it's abit pricey. The Suveran is £90 ish and would pay that. Thanx in advance for any comments Arron

Will be interested in the outcome of this post!...also looking to get another lighter uptider & was looking at the 4-8oz Suveran uptide.
I have the Team Daiwa 4-10oz uptider. Its a very nice rod but I find it a little heavy for inshore fishing..... ;D

For what it's worth, I bought a lightweight Abu Enticer (now replaced by something similar I believe) carbon uptider a few years ago for the princely sum of £35. In the years I have had it, it has caught everything from mackerel and an 8lb bass off the beach (yes, I said off the beach) to all kinds of stuff from boats. It's rated to cast up to 8 ozs but I think that might be an insult to it - 6oz is probably nearer the mark. However, I am completely happy with this tough little rod and would recommend to anyone as it seems almost faultless for the price so why pay more?

I have the abu suveran and its excellent. Rated at 10oz, it can easily handle that and lots more! My opinion its a far better rod than the diawa and I have used one..I found the team diawa was not as powerfull in the lower section which creates a bit too much of a through action I have had it 3 years and its been heavily abused, still good as new......... I also tried the greys uptider that cost £150 and the abu was far far better than this model.........

I've got a Abu Suveran Pro Uptider. Does everything I've ever asked of it very well. Landed a 40lb eel in a real strong tide uptiding with it last year and it was good as gold. Had it about 12-14 months now and it shows no signs of corrosion but I do rinse all my gear off after every session which helps. The extendable butt is a god-send as it can be shrunk down to get it in the motor without the need to dissassemble, then just a quick twist, pull to the desired length and lock off, and you're ready to fish. Quality bit of kit.

I use a Conoflex Demon for lighter uptiding, its a delight, but I'm biased I like Conoflex rods. Worth a look

Buy the Suveran, you wont regret it... I have had one for 5 years, never let me down. Watch out for the sliding butt, they have a tendancy to seize solid.
I have had Tope to 50lb, Eels to 60lb, and Blondes to 25lb, Turbot to nearly 20lb test it to the limit... Oh, and a 17lb 6oz bass ;D
If I had to take one rod on a trip it would be the Suveran, you can downtide, Uptide, use it for wrecking, and it doubles up as the perfect mini-beachcaster for my 10 year old...

I have the Suverans and the Daiwa TDX, boat rod versions and uptider versions.... I've also used the Abu Conlons, and Abu Premier rods, Hardy boat rods, Conoflex rods, Ugly Sticks,.... and in the main they are all good, barring the Abu Premier range.... but the one that stands out above the others are the Daiwa TDX's ... basically Suverans are nice, TDX are better! …. I should add IMHO … but it’s a fact
