sounds a good rod dave let us know how you get on, iv normaly gone for cheap spinning rod like the storm pro spinning(@£30ish from nailors), it a great action but the rings let them down , and i end up getting a new one every other year. so im looking at getting somethink with bit more quality . i use carp rods from the boat anrd thay are great when the is plenty of space but find when fishing in tight confinded spaces from the shore , i cant bully the bass out of the snags and lose to many fish.

I`ll let you know mate (when it eventually arrives and i get to use it......still waiting for a tip section to my beachcaster....7 weeks now) Like i say, its not really a spinning rod, its title is an `estuary rod` But at 2 to 3oz and rung for egg beaters, it will do many jobs which is really what i wanted. Close in bass ledgering, spinning, bubble floating, general float fishing, fee lining ect.......thats really why i went for it and not just a spinning rod alone. It will chuck 40/50grm spinners a good distance, job done!

Hi Solehunter, i bought a Mike Ladle SureSpin last season its a nice rod, copes with most situations.I've only used mono on it so far and broke a ring. I'll probably change to 25-30lb braid straight through this season.I'm looking foward to using it again actually. It feels it could catch me a record Bass! Everybody should dream.I caught my first plug caught Bass at Chesil two years ago after ledgering for 3 hours with no luck. it was an inspired tackle change, second cast my j11 had done the business .I used 17lb ironsilk to a bullrag casting float then a flourocarbon 30lb leader to the plug. There was quite a swell with a brisk westerly. After taking photos and admiring my 5lb Bass my next cast was a disaster knot to the bulrag let go and i spent the next 45 minutes trying to retrieve the plug.It must have drifted 300 yards down tide but a set of shrimp feathers did the trick! One of the more memorable fishing trips and it sure was tastie on the barbq back at the campsite. Just hope the Surespin has days like that!

for anyone still looking for a good but not that expensive spinning rod...
have a look at the grauvell ones.... i bought one last summer, the HM spin 11' one. its awsome! i was abit sceptical at first but an excellent bit of salesmanship from my mate in the WAC got me to buy it on impulse.
