I would be interested in this meet , although I have done a bit of Trout fishing and Flytying I have never had a go in Saltwater. I would be able to supply the flies once I know whats needed. I would have to use my lighter trout gear because Tennis Elbow stops me casting the heavy rods mentioned in the previous post.

Best time of year is early April onwards right through to Late October, even later if its warm enough. I have tried during the winter months but the water is too murky and the bass seem to go into deeper water, which make them harder to find with a fly!
Yep a weight 8 rod is fine, I have a Grauvell Montana weight 8-9, which is perfect for the job. The reel needs to be a sturdy one, coz they get bashed about a bit on the beach. Always take a pair of thigh or chest waders (chest is best), travel light, all you really need is a rod, reel and a few flies in a small box. I have found that it is always worth having a few very small eddy eels in your box (only 1 inch long), ones that look like whitebait are deadly, so get white and silver colours. When you buy them, you will find the hooks aren`t very strong, so I changed the hook for a short shank size 4 carp hook, which are very very strong and will hold any big fish.
Sunglasses are another essential, cant say that I have caught my eye, but I have glanced my ear a few times, if the wind`s in the wrong direction! Polaroid glasses are great for seeing movement, as well as protection.
Hope this helps!

I started tying saltwater flies about 3 years ago and have never used them so I would bring my box of flies to the saltwater meet and anyone there would be welcome to use them. I would also be interested in the meet at Meon Spings as it would make a change from my club waters in Kent These are some of the flies from my box Thats better smaller pics

They're some pretty flies, lovely job! Looks like Meon Springs it is then! Me and beaky fished Meon springs a little while back for an afternoon, had more success in the shallower lake. Depending on times and work etc....would be nice to fish it for a half day and have a bit of a laugh! Some trout from Meon:

Do you mean the top lake? thats where i've caught most of my fish!!! A half day sounds perfect, i think a week day would be better as it gets pretty busy down there at weekends but all depends on who's working when and where. I'm self employed so it doesn't really make any odds to me.
They're some nice trout mate!
