as a forum it works on input and comunication between members of the site.If they are not prepared to put anything in why should they benefit from poster's hard work. There should be a point say no post for 3 month and you will be removed from being a member. This would not be a prob to a genuie member as you join a forum to take part and learn, also keep a true member count and strong posting ratio to member's which would beat any site. i think 3 months is a bit generous,if they have made no post/reply to any thread after 1 month...goodbyeeeeeeeeeee ;D

this is a forum problem all over mate,i do agree many people join just for joinings sake and never use it.as for them using the catch reports this is a trust thing and most anglers i know go on trust and knowing who has told you is not fibbing.you have to use this forum and build experience and trust as you go,no good if you only look in nown and again having no interaction with some of the exellent members we have. anyone not doing this is wasting everyones time.

Lets not condemn them all straight away, as some may be fair weather anglers (im turning into 1 of these) and will be posting away in summer, when were looking for the bass etc, Your always gonna get some though that dont go back to a site after the first visit, perhaps if they havnt contributed after say 6 or 12 months, admin could remove them from the list.

I would like to post more but have nothing to report, Sandown Bay seems pretty bleak with three commercial boats netting close in every day, but I will try again this weekend. Cheers all.

Unfortunately we don't all live near the beach, are not mobile, have to use public transport, or just at work, but it doze not mean we don't enjoy our sea fishing when we can. Iam just a pleasure fisherman now, if I am not enjoying it I come home. Now I get my pleasure from reading about other peoples exploit's and there pictures. As for posts, when I have something to say i say it.

It seems obvious to me......... you " privatized" the catch report sections and all of the former guests join to get access. I haven't got a problem with that as I read more than I contribute . I personally like the photo reports , they have a real magazine feel about them. I am lucky too that a lot of the regular posters fish the same general area as me.......very useful and occasionally inspiring. Just one more thing while we,re on the subject of postings- please include more details in your catch reports secrets excepted it makes a good post interesting and informative. Its still the best of its type IMO

Hope you don't chuck me out folks, as Sean and I are more or less giving up 'til April. This time of year is what I call the doldrums (especially with a high pressure system sitting right over the top of us). There are virtually no decent fish out there to be taken, going on our experience of the last couple of weeks so we find something else to do whilst waiting for the bream, bass, plaice, etc.' to come back. See you all in two months time.

See you in April eccles . I think we all know what you mean by the doldrums, I dread it ! I'm having what might be the 'last push' this coming weekend, for while. Until my addiction gets the better of me some time later in the month lol ! On the subject of non-posters - me and solehunter were mulling this one over the other night via PM. The option of time limits on registered users not posting etc. came up, but we felt maybe it was best to just to keep going as we are, with great contributions from people with lively catch reports, photos and good discussions. These could ultimately be the best way of encouraging folk to join in. I agree with Darenw - I reckon we're cornering the market in this . This may be difficult for many of us over the next month or two with afore-mentioned doldrums - but this too will pass ! Ultimately up to Pete and Dave of course. Keep the chins up folks ! ;D
