Had it for 6 months now and it really is a lovely reel better than my old penns, cast miles, silky drag, powerful gearing, fast retrieve. cost around £80 online. casts further than my 525's mags.....

I think I'm right in saying that the SLOSH X reels (SL20SHV) actually have the same technology in them that the new 7HT Turbo has in them - Daiwa just didn't shout about it back when they launched it. You'd think the 7HT Turbo was soooo special the way they marketed it but the technology had already been on the market in the UK for ages in this reel and even longer in their lure casting ranges. It's technically a great reel.

Loved it so much I bought another today, be warned if you do buy one the brakes are NOT fitted and need to be done before you go fishing cause there a tad fast without em ;D Looked at 7HT turbo as well and it felt nowhere near as good as the SL20V, seems to be built very well and its got a ratchet, unlike 7HT turbo, improve a reel thats screaming for a line out alarm but not add it, odd.

I agree, the 7HT Turbo was a bit of a folly really. Despite the hype, it didn't really offer anyone anything that wasn't already available, except a far out colour scheme!

The 30 isn't really any better, just bigger. If you can do without the extra line capacity I'd say the 20 would cast better as it's lighter. £74.99 plus a tenner postage sounds like a bargain to me. And the seller's a professional - telephone number and everything. Looks good. Daiwa SLX20SHVThat the one you're looking at?

The older one is still a good reel but feels slightly clumsy, the spools a bit heavy, does not cast as well, the drag is ok but not as good as the newer version its a very improved lighter model worth the extra go for this one.
