I see from another forum that a chap and his little lad fished my favourite local beach at the weekend - which I had given up on for flatties this year - and had nine flounders to 1 lb 7 oz between them. The nipper took the lion's share too ! Bass seem to be persisting too, up to about the three pound mark. Against my better nature I'm starting to get twitchy about the coming weekend. May be wishfull thinking .

Good luck if you go! Just looked.....the tides dont stop building until the 21st!!! what with no moon, this should be a good full week of good chances. If Feburary is gonna throw up a few fish, it has to be from now till a week or so`s time.

If Feburary is gonna throw up a few fish, it has to be from now till a week or so`s time. I might have a return visit to a certain nearby sea wall - definitely some bass about last time I went. Although that was nearly three weeks ago, there are still reports of the odd sizable one in the local area as recently as yesterday. They were interested in whole squid. Good tides/no moon and a 'proper' concentrated effort might pay off ......
